Event Details
Participants will learn a variety of strategies to interrupt bigotry, racism, and hate-- to be an active upstander instead of a passive bystander.
Are you wondering how to respond to hatred and racism you witness in person or online? Have you ever heard a microaggression or witnessed something offensive but didn't know what to say or do?
Help build our caring community. If you want to support people targeted by racism and bigotry but don’t know how, this interactive workshop will build awareness and give you tools for safe and effective ways to stand up and intervene when you see someone targeted.
This workshop is facilitated by equity and inclusion specialist Rina Campbell (M.Ed) of Campbell Consulting. Rina has been facilitating conversations on race and equity for over 20 years and creates a comfortable environment for people to participate and learn from each other. Most recently, she has been working with the Chicago Police Department on Managing Implicit Bias for Law Enforcement and providing Anti-Racist Upstander trainings for community groups.
This program is proudly presented in partnership with multiple Illinois public libraries and will take place on Zoom. Please follow the link and register with a valid email address to receive the link to join.
