CANCELLED: Spelling Bee for Adults

This event has been canceled. 

Whether you want to relive former glory or you’ve never gotten over a stinging loss, now’s your chance to go for it again! We’ll be changing the format of a traditional spelling bee, so you can sign up in teams of 2-5 people (all 18 and up). If you’d rather not participate in the spelling but want to cheer on the participants, just drop in; there's no need to sign up.

Register your team with the captain's name and contact info in the main field and the rest of the team members' names in Special Notes. Alternatively, you can use use the form attached to the right and drop it at the Information desk or email it to sbunte@frvpld.info

If you want to participate but don't have a team, write that in Special Notes and we will attempt to place you in a team looking for more members.

General Information and Rules:

* The Spelling Bee will be held Saturday, August 11 at 3:00 PM at the Dundee Library.

* The competition consists of 6 rounds. In each round, every team will receive their own words to spell.

* Teams will confer on spelling and gain points for correctly spelled words rather than eliminations for misspelled words.

* After round 5, all but the top 2 teams will be eliminated. The winner of the final round will be the Buzzword champion.

* Use of smartphones and other aids is not allowed. Use will result in a team’s disqualification.

* The winning team will receive a trophy and favors for each team member.
