Ahoy mateys and lovers of groovin', jazzy, and snazzy hits of the '70s and '80s! Early boarding is now happening for the most eagerly anticipated library event of August 27. Arrgh, that's right, early boarding, a.k.a. registration, is available on the library's website for a nautical excursion through the calm and relaxing grooves of Yacht Rock. What is Yacht Rock? Glad you asked, skipper. It's that breezy soft rock that dominated FM radio in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, characterized by glossy production, bouncy rhythms, and often a boppin' jazzy fusion mixed in for good measure. But don't take my word for it me hearties, here follows a custom playlist created and published on the Dundee Library's Freegal page.

Not sure what Freegal is? It's a resource offered by the Library whereby you can download and KEEP five songs per week. Yep, that's right buckoes, those songs are free to you. Free for nuthin'. Free ninety-nine. Consider this list as the easiest homework assignment ever as you prepare to sail with your Captains, Cari and Gene, at the Black & Gray Brewing Co., 311 Barrington Ave, East Dundee, on Tuesday, August 27. We will be setting sail at 6:30 pm, but suggest you get there a little earlier to stake your claim, grab a libation, and come up with a clever team name. We'll see you Jolly Rogers there!
