Event Details

The freedom to read whatever a person chooses is one the library firmly believes in. You’ve probably heard plenty of stories in the last couple of years about books being banned and challenged all over the country, sometimes even in neighboring communities. The Banned Book Club is an opportunity to discover some of those books for yourself in order to understand the controversies and a time to discuss difficult topics.

This month we'll be reading Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Perez. A dangerous forbidden romance rocks a Texan oil town in 1937, when segregation was a matter of life and death.
